本番の木曜日朝９：００からのセッションの３番目で発表。結果からいうと二塁打は行ったのではないか。発表直後にとても興奮した調子でfascinating paperと喜ばれて質問というかコメント。この時代のpsychoanalysisにおけるmatricentric discourseとKaral Abrahamを繋げた議論はきわめて生産的だとのことで、小生の意図を理解したコメント。ありがたい。ちなみに質問者はこの方：http://www.duq.edu/psychology/faculty/burston.cfm 。昨日思想系の発表をした人でちょっと大雑把かと思っていたので、なんだか申し訳ないような気が。つぎのお方の質問はまったく的外れなので論外。しかし会場の大部分の律儀な心理学の歴史家たちはなんだか唖然としたような感じ。まあかなりスカトロに近いanal sadismの話なので精神分析にかなり通じていないとびっくりするだろう。なので、I'm afraid I'm sounding a little bit too scatological just before the coffee breakと言って軽く笑いを取る。ちなみに直前に送られてきた完成版のプログラムから本日分だけをコピペ：

暫定版のプログラムから大幅な変更があり、それがHPに反映されていない。大学からtravel grantをもらっているので、これでは困るとSamにメールで文句を言っておいた。
Dawson Universityのネットに繋がるようになっているので発表を聞きながらメールの返)事を書いていたら、例のDanielからさっそくメールが来て:

とほめてくれる。まあ議論の眼目がわかったコメントがありたがったので、これから友人になるかもしれない。フロイト左派に関心があり、すでに関連領域で３冊単著があるようだ。JulietのあのJournalを教えてあげよう。
パネル全体も成功したもようなので、みんな（Sonu, Sarah, Matei, Chantal) と近所のフレンチでシャンパンで祝杯の後に食事。みんなほっとしてバカばなし。Chantalが「日本語で乾杯ってなんていうの？」と聞くのでkanpaiだと答え、イタリア語でなんて言うのか聞くとchin-chinとおっしゃる。そこで小生、It means something very Freudian in Japanese, but I don't think I have to say... とか言うと、You can say anything after your paperとのこと。たしかに尾籠系の話ではあった。
夜の７時からSonuさんリサーチのワインバーで打ち上げの予定。小生はいったんホテルに帰ってこのエントリー。明日はチャックアウトぎりぎりまで二日酔いで寝ている可能性が大なのでいまのうちにエントリー。まあ、ロンドン方面作戦、前半戦はまあまあそれなりの結果であろうか。
